Well, the experimentation has begun. Printing on commercially prepared printer fabric (cotton and silk), Sheer Heaven and cheap muslin has yielded varying results.
Coaxing a pdf file into a tif file, resizing it and adding color in appropriate places has also been a challenge.
The question: Will it all come together?
I'm confident it will all come together wonderfully and I'm looking forward to seeing it!
ReplyDeleteThis looks very intriguing Judy! Where did you find the commercially prepared silk fabric for printing? Like Gina, I'm getting very curious to see the end result.
ReplyDeleteI found the silk at Joann's Fabrics. It is called photofabric and is produced by Blumenthal Craft Crafter's Images. At their online store I only found this product sold by the roll instead of 6 sheets in a package. Some fabric artists are using products by Jacquard http://inkjetfabrics.com/ with some success.
ReplyDeleteOf course it will come together and it all looks so lovely and colourful and yummy.
ReplyDeleteSince I live in a very isolated town, I generally put my own fabric sheets together for the printer, but of course the commercial ones are a lot more reliable.
In order to print larger than 8.5' x 11", I am going to have to go the freezer paper route. I did a small test with part of my creation and it looks like the result will be tolerable, I think.
ReplyDeleteThis will come together for sure! Lovely sneak peek Judy!
ReplyDeleteoh how exciting! This is going to be so neat to see - it will come together fabulously, I'm sure. I've had dismal results with trying to print on fabric I've prepared myself, so tend to stick to the commercially available products. My TAP arrived the other day, and I'm dying to give it a try - maybe tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteJudy i think you will get it together...I am interested in the silk at Joanne's was it in a package....still looking for it..thanks for the info...
