The Gift of Fantasy

What an appropriate time to read this quote ..... as I'm brainstorming and sketching ideas for our first challenge .... thought artists and all would enjoy this .....

When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge. -- Albert Einstein

  1. Well that definitely is an appropriate quote for our venture. Does that mean we should throw caution to the wind and let our fantasies take over? That approach could yield something very interesting.

  2. Oh I definitely think so ..... usually after my initial gut idea I start the crazy brainstorming. I'd say the longest part of my process is the brainstorming and sketching. I'm not sure it yields a better result than if I'd simply gone with my gut response but I do learn a lot through the brainstorming. (and often have ideas to come back to in the future)

  3. Thanks Gina for the quote! For the longest time recently, I have had almost no creative thought while I run but this morning, my brain was alive with ideas... and by George, I think I've got it... at least a start!

  4. Thanks for sharing that- I could definitely use a dose of fantasy! Anything to cut my brain lose- if it worked for Einstein, who knows.

  5. This is a great quote! Fantasy is so important, and without it, none of the world's great inventions, art works or scientific theories would have ever happened. Who am I to try and fight that?

  6. Einstein was one for creativity and play. So if the greatest mind of all time (I am biassed, as a biochemist) says that fantasy is better than knowledge, who am I to argue? Let the fantasies roll!
